Jam Drops

  Jam drops 

6 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cups of self raising flour
Pinch salt
Favourite jam

  1. Beat butter abd sugar to a cream
  2. Add lightly beaten egg and vanilla and beat together well.
  3. Sift flour and salt together.
  4. Add to creamed mixture and mix well.
  5. Take teaspoonfulls of mixture ad roll into balls.
  6. Place on greased trays -allow room for spreasing.
  7. make a hollow in each ball with the end of the wooden spoon or your finger.
  8. Place a little jam in each hollow.
  9. Bake in a moderate oven for 10 - 15 min
  10. Allow to cool on tray
Makes 30ish.

Alternatively instead of placing jam on the top of  the dough add a freckle or a choc whirl or even a carob whirl.  Adds a different dimension to awesome ;)
